Jane's diary: April
Peek inside the diary of Jane Shepherdson - our inspirational CEO.
We had great fun hosting a party to launch our collaboration with Trekstock in our Spitalfields store. Trekstock is an incredible charity founded by the wonderful Sophie Epstone, whose mission is to help beat cancer by funding valuable research to ensure young people make better-informed lifestyle choices. It was a brilliant night and officially the hottest day in 2013! Thanks to everyone who came along to celebrate with us.
The Woman, The Gaze, The World at the Hanmi Gallery
I got my art fix at The Hanmi Gallery in Fitzrovia this month to catch Crystal Bennes latest exhibition before it closed. The show explored female perspective and featured a handful of fabuous photographers such as Seulki Ki, whose work Unfamiliar Corner reminded me of our upcoming campaign….
Item of the month
I have just bought one of my favourite pieces in the entire spring/summer 2013 collection – the sporty silk varsity jacket. I wore the sample to the Trekstock party as I couldn’t wait for it to come in! I’ll wear it throughout summer with a white tee, boyfriend jeans, skinny jeans, and navy crepe trousers, with the black and navy Chi Chi sandals – who cares if the sun doesn’t shine.
I’ve just returned from a trip to Berlin and Munich, to see our beautiful new concessions in KaDeWe, Berlin’s answer to Selfridges, and Oberpollinger department store. After visiting our gorgeous space in KaDeWe, I made a flying visit to our Oberpollinger space, before rushing back to the airport and almost missing my flight – very glamorous. I spent the Bank Holiday in a wooden hut on the beach in Branscombe, Devon, and was lucky enough to sample the delights of the English Riviera in glorious sunshine. Dexter really enjoyed patrolling and barking at anyone who tried to get too close.
