Shoes spring/summer 2013

The wait is over, our spring/summer 2013 shoe collection has finally launched. As we unveil our most extensive footwear collection to date, we invite you to browse – and covet – our full range of mainline and web excusive online styles and shop an edited range in your local store today.

To celebrate the launch, we caught up with our resident shoe designer Emma Siddals to find out more about her creative process and favourite pieces.

Talk us through your moodboard for the collection.

The mood for this season is minimal, sporty and modern. Pointed toes and skinny or blocky heels are important with the styling emphasis on the ankle. Ankle straps and simple 2 part sandals look really fresh. Colour play and combinations are also really important and our palette ranges from new neutrals- nude, navy and khaki, to punchier colours such as cobalt, chilli red, acid yellow and white.

What are your favourite styles from the collection?

The Chi Chi sandal and the Leopard Espadrille slipper will update my look nicely.

Do you have any top tips for storing shoes at home?

Always in their boxes where space allows, otherwise at least in their shoe bags and stuffed with tissue paper.

What kind of shoe do you feel most powerful in?

Heels of course. Our French 75 is a beautiful shape for elongating the leg, although at 5’ 11”, I am always looking for sexy shoes at mid heights.

The collection references key spring/summer trends. The Chi Chi Sandal taps into the colour block trend, while the architectural stiletto heel of the Bellini Pannelled Sandal channels the razor-sharp minimalist mood of the season. The luxuriant fabrications of the statement espadrilles and functional straps of the Kamikaze Platforms provide the perfect accent to luxe sport dressing.

The sandal is well and truly back this season. How would you style the sandals in the collection?

It feels much more modern to wear stiletto heeled sandals with tapered leg trousers or jeans. I would wear a relaxed, masculine tapered leg trouser with the Bellini Pannelled Sandal, a white t-shirt, Rivington Pouch and statement cuff or necklace.
