Whistles neighbourhood: Paris
An expert micro guide to the stylish French capital, the location of our latest international concession.
Palais de Tokyo
The Palais de Tokyo centre hosts a schedule of innovative multi-media exhibitions, performances and creative events. Identifying itself as an ‘anti-museum’, this informal space is an ideal place to while away a Sunday afternoon - don’t miss the black and white photo booth in the foyer for the perfect antiquated souvenir.
13 avenue du President Wilson, 75116
In a previous life, this Northern district of Paris was considered to be one of the major creative areas of the city. Though the rising rental prices have forced the population of penniless artists elsewhere, the Montmartre hilltop is one of the most beautiful parts of the city. We recommend getting lost among the winding cobbled streets and haggling for antiques in the Marché aux Puces flea market.
Nearest metro: Porte de Clignancourt
This concept store is loved by Parisians and tourists alike for its expertly curated fashion and lifestyle stock, spanning kidswear, furniture, stationery and jewellery. The store is housed in a restored fabric factory that was built in the early 19th century, giving the space a hip loft-like vibe. We recommend perusing the library for the best fashion and design coffee table titles.
111 boulevard Beaumarchais, 75003
La Maison Angelina
Formerly frequented by members of the French aristocracy including Coco Chanel, this infamous tearoom has since become a Parisian institution. Boasting an opulent interior, designed by Belle Epoque architect Edouard-Jean Niermans, and an array of irresistible sweet treats, La Maison Angelina is an experience not to be missed.
226 rue de Rivoli, 75001
The Beef Club
An evening in Paris is best spent dining in a top restaurant before heading to a suitably hip, clandestine bar. Tick both boxes and book a table at The Beef Club, located in the emerging Les Halles district. Indulge in a gourmet cheeseburger and continue the hedonistic flex downstairs in the Ballroom du Beef Club, with an expertly mixed cocktail from the mixologists behind London’s Experimental Cocktail Club.
Rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau, 75001
A discerning crowd of locals flock to this popular eatery for the hip and cosy atmosphere and the outstanding, free-spirited fare of Basque chef Iñaki Aizpitarte. The menu is constantly updated depending on what the prolific chef sources from the market each day, making this a truly unique dining experience.
129 Avenue de Parmentier, 75011
The Broken Arm
This recently opened concept store houses a progressive selection of womenswear, menswear, footwear and lifestyle accessories from brands including Kenzo and Christophe Lemaire. Don’t miss the beautifully crafted artisan stationery on the basement floor and the sun-drenched café serving quality coffee and delicious salads until late afternoon.
12 rue Perrée, 75003
