Go see: King’s Cross Pond Club

Summer in the city sparks the urge to flock to the nearest green space and seek refuge in the grass. This year, the city will offer a brand new slice of nature, in the form of a natural swimming pond, located in the centre of bustling King’s Cross.

Of Soil and Water: King’s Cross Pond Club is technically an art installation, designed to make us reconsider the relationship between nature and the urban landscape. The juxtaposition of the sprawling grasses and wild flowers that surround the pond against a backdrop of towering concrete. This sets the tone for a potential future harmony; a true urban oasis.

Measuring an impressive 40 metres in length, the pond has the capacity to accommodate over 100 bathers. The water is completely chemical free, relying on wetland and submerged water plants to filter it. What could be more enticing on a scorching hot Sunday?

The pond club opens this spring, for more information, visit kingscross.co.uk.
