Juergen Teller: Woo!
Institute of Contemporary Arts, London
Last weekend we jumped for joy at the prospect of the newly opened exhibition of fashion’s favourite photographer Juergen Teller. Once we made it through the discerning foyer crowd, we were confronted with giant images of Vivienne Westwood, Kurt Cobain and a very fluffy kitten.
The show exhibits Teller’s fashion and commercial work from the 90's to the present day. Familiar sights included Victoria Beckham's legs poking out of a carrier bag, Bjork in the Blue Lagoon and Kate Moss in bed.
In the busiest room, Teller’s imagery was collaged across four walls, floor to ceiling. This room hammered home the photographer's influence in shaping the landscape of the fashion industry over the last 20 years. From Marc Jacobs to Celine - Teller is responsible for creating some of the fashion world’s most pioneering and creative fashion advertising campaigns to date. We highly recommend a visit.
Juergen Teller: Woo! is on at the ICA from 23rd January 2013 - 17th March 2013.
