Kirsi Mikkola - Qumquat

15.05.2013

If you’re planning to visit our new Berlin concession in the beautiful KaDeWe department store, we recommend stopping by Berlin’s Carlier Gebauer gallery to catch Kirsi Mikkola’s fantastic Qumquat exhibition.

The Finnish artist is known for her tactile mixed-media works that are haphazardly constructed from a hotchpotch of found paper, the source of which ranges from calendars to notebooks.

Kirsi’s works possess a strong sense of freedom and vibrancy and her command of colour is utterly uplifting – especially considering the grey summer sky that currently hangs over most of Europe. In these invigorating works, ultramarine blue merges with jade green and flashes of cerise, in a wild riot of colour and texture.
