Each year Wilderness Festival boasts a genre and decade-spanning line-up of multi-talented musicians, and this year is no different. Nile Rodgers & Chic are headlining the main stage with throwback disco hits will be sure to get you on your feet, while jazz saxophonist Kamasi Washington’s progressive musical blend of hip-hop, classical and R&B influences will soothe even the most steadfast of hangovers.. After-dark, Groove Armada bring their two-decade career in electronic dance to the The Valley, with hits like I See You Baby and Superstylin' guaranteed to keep you moving long past the midnight hour.

A mini festival within a festival, the Wilderness Talks & Debates programme boasts over 250 speakers from the deeply serious to the highly irreverent. Letters Live headlines this year’s talks programme with a series of exciting and powerful readings from the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch, Jude Law and Kylie Minogue. Sarah Raphael, Editor at Large of Refinery29, is set to host a thought-provoking discussion about the last momentous 18 months for women in the media and query what’s next for this extraordinary movement, and performance artist and sculptor Andrew Logan debuts his Miss Alternative Universe at Wilderness Festival for one night only. Celebrating the diverse and defining the new, expect the unexpected when it comes to this glittering technicolour pageant of the bizarre.
What to eat
Hit recharge with Wilderness Feasts, an exclusive dining experience of foodie delights for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Dine at renowned chef Angela Hartnett (of London's Cafe Murano fame) Italy-inspired banquet, or opt for Petersham Nurseries’ seasonal botanical menu complete with dramatically wild floral displays. Looking for something more grab and go? Old-time London favourites Patty & Bun are returning for the fourth year in a row with their crowd-pleasing BBQ, serving up meaty burgers, wood-grilled chicken and smoked beef ribs.

Wilderness Festival would not be without its diverse and exciting line-up of craft workshops, outdoor pursuits, and health and wellbeing activities. Those looking to reset can find a quiet haven away from the crowds in the Yoga Sphere, and join in with powerful vinyasa flows, balancing hatha sequences and yoga brunches, plus flying acro. Those seeking to learn a new skill can unleash their adventurous side with a masterclass in archery or -relax with a Tai Chi workshop. Feeling the heat? Take the plunge in the crystal clear waters of Lake Majestic, the perfect antidote to the midday August sun.
