Meet our personal shoppers
Our bespoke shopping service has now arrived at our St Christopher’s Place flagship store. Whatever outfit your looking for, our free personal service can help you create a styling solution for any purpose. Earlier this week we took a trip to meet our expert team of shoppers, the brilliant Hannah and Amy.
Firstly how long have you been with Whistles?
H: I’ve been in the company for eight years all together, starting in Nottingham, which is where I grew up, then to Manchester. I’ve been a brand ambassador and completed internships within the design team at head office.
A: I’ve been working for three years, also moving from Kingston, where I studied, my hometown of East Sheen and now at St Christopher’s Place.
Can you tell us about the personal shopping process?
A: Firstly we provide an initial consultation, to ensure you get the most out of your appointment, just a quick informal chat with us via email or over the phone.
H: It’s so we can get an idea of what you’re looking for and your clothing size, this helps us pull together a bespoke rail of pieces for your arrival.
A: We know that it can be quite intimidating heading into a store, but this is completely relaxed and informal. Shopping is so different for everyone, it is an incredibly personal process.
H: We’re here to help with problem solving or consolidating your wardrobe, we even do group appointments. You can sit back, relax, browse and enjoy a coffee.
You have both studied fashion design, can you tell us more about this?
H: I’ve actually just completed my MA in menswear design at London College of Fashion. I’m a bit of a fabric nerd, I train all the staff in how to wear and how to care for your Whistles pieces, it’s important to know how to care for your pieces in the long-term.
A: I studied design at Kingston, it’s so useful when it comes to in-store alterations, I would love to do a PHD in colour studies one day, it’s such an important tool in fabric design.
Tell us about your store neighborhood..
H: I think the area around St Christopher’s place is quite atmospheric, it feels more like a village due to the individual boutiques that neighbor the store.
A: It’s such a break from the busy atmosphere on Oxford Street, it’s more of a relaxed experience shopping around here.
What’s the best place to grab lunch in the area?
A: Silvios, you can make the most incredible salad there, they have freshly baked breads and a great deli selection.
H: There are so many great sushi places nearby, for coffee I would highly recommend Workshop coffeebar or the Monocle café.
Finally, what are your current obsessions outside of work?
H: Future islands, can’t stop listening to them, and I have a secret habit of Instagram stalking – who doesn’t? And watching Revenge, the TV series, it’s addictive.
A: I binge watched way too many TV shows recently, so I’m trying to take a healthy break, I went to Sandbanks at the weekend, making the most of the British summer.
This service is completely free of charge, can last up to two hours with no minimum spend. Group appointments are welcome too. To book your appointment with either please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 0207 487 4484.
