Whistles muse: Anjelica Huston
Anjelica Huston has mastered many styles, from elegant high glamour dressing, to casual double denim and refined tailoring. All with the distinct and timeless appeal that has established her as a unique Hollywood icon.
Born into an oscar winning family, Anjelica, who won the best supporting actress in Prizzi’s Honor, established herself as an actor in her own right. Appearing in a series of acclaimed films such as The Royal Tenenbaums and The Addams Family. Yet her career originally began in fashion as a model, shot by the likes of David Bailey, Bob Richardson and Richard Avedon. Aged eighteen, Huston had appeared on the pages of Vogue and on the catwalk for Halston and Zandra Rhodes.
As a reflection of her eclectic Hollywood life, her signature style developed alongside, from California seventies cool, think wide leg denim, loose rolled sleeve shirts and athletic t-shirts. All balanced with statement jewellery and essential sunglasses. By night, Huston opts for sophisticated silk dresses and delicate floral prints, all in loose shapes to flatter her 6ft frame. Completed again, with statement jewellery, mastering Hollywood high glamour. Often adopting masculine inspired pieces, Huston expertly manages to balance strong tailored jackets with relaxed knits, loose shirts and staple accessories.
We highly recommend a read of ‘Watch Me’ and ‘A Story Never Told’ for Huston’s honest accounts of elite Hollywood parties, her seventeen year on-off relationship with Jack Nicholson and her struggles as a female actress.
