Listen: New Year's Eve disco playlist

Photography by Bill Berstein

Taking our inspiration from Serena Morton Gallery’s ‘Disco’ exhibition of Bill Bernstein’s photography, our NYE playlist features tracks by everyone from Gloria Gaynor to braided lothario Rick James. A hypnotic celebration of New York’s 1970s club scene, Bernstein’s black and white images capture the tolerance, diversity, and happiness at the heart of a short-lived movement that’s become embedded in our culture.

With a mix of disco classics and deep cuts, this playlist is an endlessly positive way to usher in 2016. The pick of the bunch has to be Donna Summer’s revolutionary ‘I Feel Love’, produced by the godfather of electronic music and Daft Punk collaborator Geogio Moroder.
