Canal Trek

Our challenge

From Birmingham to London St Pancras, 7 days, 144 miles.

The Whistles team are stretching their legs and undertaking the challenge to walk along the iconic Grand Union Canal.

Between Saturday 23rd to Friday 29th of May, we’re walking to raise money for Trekstock, the remarkable charity who empower young adults to thrive through and beyond the challenges of cancer.

Why canals?

A British design classic. Since the Industrial Revolution, canals have a history steeped in manufacturing, especially for textiles. Built originally by British merchants to improve their supply chain, nowadays, although used less for trade, their authenticity remains as a scenic transport route connecting major UK cities. An iconic destination within the city, just off the beaten track, the canal is accessible to all lifestyles, used by commuters, cyclists, runners & houseboats.
