Whistles Muse: Sade Adu

Fresh out of Central Saint Martins, Sade developed her own menswear line before naturally her talent took her to music. Her style however still retained a masculine balance, featuring oversized shirts and classic stonewash denim, which she used as a contrast to typical feminine styles. A look which we love and an inspiring approach to dressing.

Besides the defining Sade look, the red lip, sleek high plait and oversize hoops that we have come to know and love, the singer was also a fan of the cropped turtleneck.  Featuring elements of lace and a classic monochrome palette in the cropped shape. Her other chosen knitwear shape was also relaxed, oversized and slouchy, teamed with high waist denim for a pioneering look. Which Sade built out of separate yet strong pieces, that is still as fresh and contemporary today.

Opt for our Girlfriend jean and Ella cropped knit for a defined look, which nods and pays homage to the timeless music legends style.
