Watch: A Star is Born
The much-anticipated Hollywood musical has finally arrived. In the fourth remake of this romantic classic, Bradley Cooper makes his directorial debut whilst Lady Gaga gives a show-stopping performance in her first leading role.
In A Star is Born we see Lady Gaga shed her pop persona to play Ally - a struggling singer-songwriter who still lives at home with her father. She is soon discovered by Cooper’s character, Jackson Maine, a country star struggling with addiction and as they fall in love, her career begins to rise whilst his spirals downwards.
The film delves into the challenges of living in an impossible spotlight and caring for someone troubled, without losing yourself. We are left with a love story from an unlikely duo, full of authentic raw moments and eclectic live music performances. Who knew Bradley Cooper could sing?
We’re used to seeing Lady Gaga in maximalist, headline-grabbing outfits - who doesn’t remember that meat dress? Yet A Star is Born sees the star take a more stripped back approach when we first meet Ally. In celebration of this autumn’s must-see movie, we’ve rounded up just a handful of her unique looks - from off-duty to on the red carpet.
1. Mercury rising

2. Effortless elegance
We love the nostalgic tone set by polka dots and this look oozes old school glamour. Recreate an elegant outfit in our Margot spot dress, which will hit the sweet spot between timely and timeless.
3. Sherbert shades
Reconsider the role of pastel colours in your wardrobe, thanks to Gaga. Follow her lead and pair baby pink hues with statement accessories. Our Sophia knit is an easy way to ease this trend into your wardrobe.
4. Soft touch
5. Dressed-down denim
6. Red alert
Up the glamour this autumn/winter by opting for shades of red and flowing silhouettes. Add a refined pair of heels and a classic red lip after-hours.
7. Bowie tribute
At the 2016 Grammys we saw Gaga dedicate her red carpet look to David Bowie in a shoulder padded dress-coat by Marc Jacobs. Nodding to Ziggy Stardust, she completed the outfit with blue eyeshadow and flame red hair in true Bowie style.
8. Maximum volume
During Venice film festival, Gaga made an electrifying arrival alongside Bradley Cooper in a oversized gown by Valentino. Who else could grace fans in a fluffy pink ostrich feathered dress and look this good?
10. Vintage classic
At the London premiere for A Star is Born, she delivered again in a Shakespearean dress by Alexander McQueen. Designed with a statement full skirt, this ornate style features a unique ruffle neck and exquisite bead detailing.
