The dress 👗 is lovely. I checked it at the department store in advance. I’m not so tall, so I shortened the length a little bit by myself, because I wanted to wear it soon. The one thing I was disappointed about was that it was not well made. However it’s not so visible thanks to the design of fabric .

The ruched waistband of this dress is very poorly constructed! The way it bunches up is very unflattering, but even worse, the fabric pattern isn't gathered levelly across the waist. This gives the visual impression that the dress is 'hitched up' at one side and sloping down to the other. It's frankly unwearable. When I contacted customer service I said that I shouldn't have to pay return shipping for a manufacturing fault. Whistles said that at most they would reimburse me 20 pounds, after they received the return. USPS postage from the USA costs $27 (NO TRACKING, NO INSURANCE), or $60 (TRACKING & INSURANCE). Forget about UPS, FEDEX and DHL which are waaaayyyyyy more expensive! Whistles international returns have become a massive cost issue since they closed their store/return center in Soho, NYC. But a situation like this highlights that every purchase is an expensive gamble! At least companies like Hobbs offer ReBound return services. I don't think I can risk future Whistles purchases unfortunately.
