The cut and style of this jacket is superb: it's a bit retro with the buttons, and also very modern with the cutaway at the front. I'm a size 6 and it is a perfect fit. I wish I could love it and keep it, but the flaw is the fabric, which is unbelievably cheap and nasty. I know a lot about textiles, and I can already see how this fabric is going to look shiny and nasty after a very short time. The jacket arrived squashed into packaging that highlighted its flaws. Whistles has downgraded many fabrics in the last 10 years or so. It used to be my go-to shop for fashionable yet classic pieces, but now I often avoid it. I wish I hadn't thought that this piece might buck the sorry trend; it certainly didn't and I'm very disappointed. I'll be returning the jacket next week, and in the meantime have bought a high-quality ponte blazer from Hugo Boss.
